The Asia Office365 CoE team is looking for an experienced Architect possessing great customer management skills, strategic business acumen and technical skills that can fulfill the role of Architect for the Asia Office365 Centre of Excellence team. This role to will be servicing Microsoft Asia region with primary focus on APAC. The role to be based in either Singapore or SEA market and the successful candidate is required to have had strong experience in infrastructure solution design and delivery. The role is expected to carry out a number of pre-sales activities as part of the duties in helping structure the engagement. The Architect role will play a vital role from the beginning of the lifecycle, in understanding the risks in the migration and planning of the deployment.

The Architect must apply advanced analysis skills and experience to provide detailed reliable solutions and estimates for service implementations. To be credible, he or she must have current and deep experience with Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Office Communications Server, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, Active Directory, and Forefront Identity Manager. Strong leadership and the ability to professionally represent Microsoft in challenging environments are required. Understanding of competitive technologies enables the architect to properly assess feasibility of migrating customer solutions from, and/or integrating with customer solutions hosted on, non-Microsoft platforms. Knowledge about working in the Asia market and in particular with APAC customers is a requirement.

Key responsibilities:
Expert level knowledge required for assisting customers in architecting, planning, testing and deploying solutions including the following:

Business Management
Accountable to meet deployment velocity and deployment commitments for all Office365 deployments.
Manage complex and broad cross organizational communications across multiple Microsoft partner and Microsoft internal teams and organizations.
Responsible for maintaining communications & relations with Office365 Technical teams and communities.
Responsible for identifying technical risks and road blocks for deployment, and for developing plans and actions for mitigating them.
Responsible for identifying Office 365 service and Microsoft services offering gaps and developing actions to mitigate these

Customer Management
Maintain high customer satisfaction for all aspects of deployments.
Accountable for developing and maintaining executive customer relationships for all deployments.
Deliver articulate and effective Executive presentations to audiences of all sizes. The role requires an individual who is resourceful, confident under pressure, and has demonstrated skill in both political management and expectation management.

The Architect will be required to assist or provide technical quality oversight at various points throughout a project lifecycle. To be successful, he or she must have proven experience managing projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing multi-phase/multi-dimensional/multi-resource projects to conclusion while maintaining high customer satisfaction. The role requires an individual who is resourceful, confident under pressure, and has demonstrated skill in both expectation and crisis management.

Essential Experience
Minimum of 10 years of solid technical experience in delivering solutions (not just planning or establishing enterprise architecture).
Candidates must have been in a lead technical role for helping to architect and implement solutions with 10,000 seats or similar complexity.
Pre-Sales experience of service-based solutions (management consulting, strategic planning, etc.)
Proven track record of architecting and delivering projects to Enterprise Clients
Proven experience selling consulting engagements which includes estimating, scoping, and writing effective statements of work that clearly set expectations and limit risk.
Demonstrated excellence at presenting complex technical topics to both executive and technical personnel
An ability to articulate architectural differences between solution methods and the challenges and approaches to integrating solutions built on different platforms including a working knowledge of different architectural frameworks that may be used by our customers.

Technical / Functional Skills
Unified Communication Solutions:
o Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Designs
o Large scale designs for IM & Presence
o Web, Audio/Video Conferencing
o Edge including PIC, Federation and Access Edge
o OCS Enterprise Voice

Messaging Solutions:
o Exchange Server 2010 designs, Large scale server designs including High Availability using Clustering and Storage Area Networks (SAN)
o Disaster Recovery planning/designs using replication techniques
o Server consolidation including client to server network bandwidth planning
o Client Access designs for various scenarios including: Outlook, Outlook Web App (OWA), Exchange Active Sync (EAS), POP/IMAP
o Exchange Unified Messaging
o Migrations/upgrade from previous versions of Microsoft Exchange Server (2007, 2003, 2000 and 5.5)
o Migration from legacy mail systems including: Lotus Notes/Domino, Groupwise, SMTP POP/IMAP solutions and others

General IT Infrastructure experience:
o Dependent services such as Active Directory, Name Resolution (DNS), etc.
o Industry Operational practices such as MOF and ITIL
o PBX integration
o IT Project scoping and estimating
o IT Project lead or project management

Product/Technology Knowledge - deep technology experience in at least two of the following areas: Desktop Software Deployments, Microsoft Exchange, Office Collaboration Server, SharePoint, and Active Directory.
Sales/Presentation Skills - Demonstrates effective selling and business resource skills, effective group presentations, combined with outstanding oral and written communication skills
A good understanding and exposure to Microsoft enterprise services frameworks and practices(SDM, MSSP, MOF)
Experience in delivering hosted services to customers (e.g. Telecom)
Undestanding of the Microsoft Online platform and products

Personal Attributes / Interpersonal Skills
Frequent travel (up to 70%) is an integral part of this role, as are high levels of recognition and visibility.
Ability to manage effectively in a dynamic, ambiguous, growing and ever changing business environment.
Teaming/Collaboration - Demonstrated track record of effective cross-group collaboration skills to achieve results through influence
Good Capability to develop and mentor people
